ASI landed in trouble for not recognising Home Minister

Imphal, September: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of the Manipur Police Department posted at Thoubal district police station today landed in trouble after he fail to recognise the Home Minister of Manipur Gaikhangam. According to report the ASI identified as one S. Jadumani was posted on duty at the Thoubal DC office complex for election related matter. Home Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the president of the MPCCI today came to the Thoubal District DC office for filing nomination paper of Congress candidate E Dwijamani.  While coming out from the DEO office after filing nomination the Home Minister notice an ASI still sitting ignoring him. Gaikhangam then called on the ASi and inquire if he knows him. Surprisingly the ASI replied that he did not know whom he was talking to. Instead of saying more words Gaikhangam took out a five hundred rupees note and then handed over it to him as a reward for not knowing him.

The ASI was later summoned by the Thoubal District Police SP and asked for explanation of not recognising the home minister. Source said that the ASI might be put under suspension for the act.
