Bandh and blockade hindered education sector in the state: Education Minister

Education Minister, M. Okendra today said that frequent and bandh and blocades give hindrance to education sector in the state.Minister said this while giving his speech as the chief guest of the seminar on identity as agent of social integration organized by KSO General Headquarters at Kuki Inn, Imphal.During his speech Minister Okendra further said that the academic atmosphere in the state is deteriorated due to the frequent bandh, general strike and economic blockades called by various organisations in the state.He also appealed to the people other organisations of the state to stop calling bandhs and blockades for minor incident in order to enable the students to attend their class.Talking about the importance of preserving our culture and identity, M. Okendra also said that it is the major concern for everyone of us. He added that we should try to avoid unwanted incidents caused by misunderstanding among different communities in the state.The function was also attended by Francis Ngajokpa, Minister (PR &RD) and Emboi Serto, President ATSUM as guest of honour and president respectively.Dr. Seipu Kipgen attended as the moderator of Seminar Session.
