Rajkumar Mohen Singh, Divisional Retail Sales Head of the Imphal Divisional Office, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), along with a team of IOCL officials, called on the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan, Imphal today. The delegation briefed the Governor on several ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects undertaken by IOCL in the state, including the installation of CNG and EV charging stations as part of the company’s efforts to promote clean and sustainable energy solutions.
The team also discussed the National Gas Grid, a Government of India initiative aimed at creating a nationwide network of interconnected pipelines to facilitate the widespread distribution of natural gas. In addition, they highlighted various steps taken by IOCL to strengthen the supply and distribution network of LPG and other petroleum products across Manipur.
The Governor welcomed the initiatives and advised the IOCL officials to ensure timely completion of the projects to meet the energy needs of the people and support the state’s development goals.
In a separate meeting, representatives of Sambu Raiping Long also met with the Governor at Raj Bhavan and presented a memorandum highlighting key challenges faced by their communities. The delegation raised concerns over poor road connectivity, inadequate healthcare services, lack of quality educational facilities, and limited access to essential public utilities in their respective villages.
They urged the Governor to take necessary steps to improve rural infrastructure and ensure the equitable delivery of government services. The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that appropriate action would be taken to address the issues raised.
