39-year-old lady who sustained bullet injuries in Kangchup when Kuki militants launched a fierce gun attack on civilians on November 17 succumbed to her injuries today at RIMS hospital today afternoon.
The lady identified as Khwairakpam Ningol Abemcha sustained bullet injury along with others including 2 police personnel and 3 Village defenders after armed Kuki militants fired indiscriminately from the Kangchup Hilltop towards the Meitei villages. A video of the lady asking desperately those helping her if she would survive or not went viral on social media.
“Am I going to die?”, the lady asked those helping her after being hit by the bullet. She was immediately rushed to RIMS hospital along with others and has been undergoing treatment till she breathed her last at around 1.30 pm today.
People from various parts of the state rushed to the RIMS hospital after receiving news about her death
