Indefinite bandh at Koubru Range relax for 72 hours

IT News
Imphal, Jan 13:

The indefinite bandh imposed by the Koubru Range Liangmai Women Union on the SP Road has been temporarily relaxed for 72 hours, starting from 12 noon today.
In a statement, the Liangmai Council, Eastern Zone, Manipur, explained that the decision was made following requests from the Leimakhong Area Protection Committee (LAPC) and the Leimakhong Area Chief Organisation (LACO) on humanitarian grounds.
The temporary suspension is intended as a grace period for the concerned parties to take responsibility and surrender those involved in the physical assault of a woman from Konsakhul Lungwiram village.
The Liangmai Council warned that failure to act within the 72-hour timeframe would result in stricter and more active demonstrations across Liangmai Naga-inhabited areas.
The decision to relax the bandh was unanimously supported by the Liangmai Naga Council – Eastern Zone, Koubru Range Liangmai Women Union, and the Eastern Liangmai Chiefs and Chairmen Association.
