Imphal International Airport to set up Police Station

Imphal International Airport (IIA) Director Chipemmi Keishing has announced plans to establish a dedicated police station within the airport premises. The initiative is aimed at strengthening security and improving management at the facility.
In a recent discussion with Imphal West Police SP Kshetrimayum Shivkanta, the Director revealed that a 30-member police brigade would be deployed to the airport, with the new police station serving as a critical part of the security infrastructure.
Keishing highlighted that the station would help streamline traffic control and maintain law and order more effectively, while addressing growing security concerns. The move is expected to enhance the overall operational efficiency of the airport.
The process of setting up the police station is slated to begin in February, with efforts focused on making it operational at the earliest. The Director emphasized the importance of collaboration with Manipur Police to ensure a safer environment for both passengers and airport staff.
DIG Range 1, N. Herojit, has also expressed his support for the initiative, underscoring its significance in addressing the increasing security demands at Imphal International Airport.
