IGAR (South) briefs CM N. Biren Singh on security situation of border area

Imphal, Jan 3: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh discussed security situation with the IGAR (South) Major General Virendra Singh on Tuesday. The IGAR (South) Major General Virendra Singh while conveying greeting to the Chief Minister with the coming of the New year, also briefed about the security situation along the Indo-Myanmar Border villages in the state and also informed him about the various development and welfare activities undertaken by the Assam Rifles in the border areas. Future plan to support in development of local communities in the border villages of the state were also brief by the IGAR (South) to the Chief Minister.
As per statement of the PRO Assam Rifles , Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also discussed  Chief Minister and IG also discussed several inter-related internal-external security management issues and the steps required to be taken for more effectively dealing with insurgent activities and ensuring the safety of all in the state. In the end, the General Officer reiterated the commitment of Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and secure in the state.
