How Green Was My Valley for GPC screening

 The celluloid version of Richard Llewellyn’s matchless literary creation ‘How Green Was My Valley’ will be screened at Guwahati Press Club on Saturday (30 June) by 5 pm. Directed by   John

Ford, the 1941 black & white film has music by Alfred Newman and cinematography by Arthur C Miller. Edited by  James B Clark, the movie has casts including Walter Pidgeon, Maureen O’Hara, Anna Lee, Donald Crisp, Roddy McDowall, Sara Allgood etc.

The screening will be a tribute to Professor Abul Lais, who had passed away on 16 June at his ancestral home at Machkhowa locality of Guwahati. The well-known educationist translated a number of international classics into Assamese including Llewellyn’s How Green Was My Valley.
