Imphal, April 3: Death toll of the March 27 tragic road accidents at two National Highways of Manipur reached 23 after another injured victim succumbed to his injury today afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as S. Ajit (22 years) son of S. Achoubi of Mantriukhri Ahongei. He has been undergoing treatment at JNIMS after he sustained serious injury at Mao Maram accident. Twelve persons were killed at that accident after the passenger bus they were traveling felt into a gorge in between Makan and Chakhumai area in Senapati district along the Imphal-Dimapur road. Another 1 died at Lairou on the same highway at another accident while 9 people were killed in another road accident inbetween Khongsang and Irang area along Imphal Jiribam road.
26 people sustained serious injury in both the accident. With one more death, the number now reached 23.
