Govt. cancels 2019 Power Dept. recruitment, fresh process to begin via SSC

The Government of Manipur has cancelled the recruitment process initiated in 2019 for various posts in the two state power companies — Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) and Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL).
According to an order issued by the Power Department, the Governor-in-Council in its meeting held on August 14, 2025, resolved to scrap the ongoing recruitment and initiate a fresh selection process through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
The order further clarified that all candidates who had applied and appeared in the earlier 2019 recruitment examination will be allowed to sit for the fresh examination free of cost. They will also be granted a one-time age relaxation beyond the normal upper age limit in view of the long delay and time lapse since the original notification.
The Power Department has been instructed to prepare and forward a fresh requisition of posts to the SSC as per the current requirement.
The decision is expected to impact hundreds of job aspirants who had been waiting for the recruitment process to conclude since 2019.
