Government target next financial year to complete the food park of Manipur: Govindas Konthoujam

State government is targeting to complete the ongoing construction work of the Food Park at Nilakuthi by next financial year. Talking during the inaugural function of the Balaji Flour Mill at Nilakuthi in Imphal East district under Heingang Assembly Constituency, Minister of commerce and Industries Department  said that the government has utilized a sum of rupees 30 crore for construction of the food park and still another rupees 12 crore is required for completion of the park.“So far 25 person had deposited for plots in the food park and 24 is left. So the state Commerce and Industries department is conducting tender for the remaining plots,” Govindas said.He said each plot cost around rupees 81 lacs but the department is providing for a sum of rupees 5 lacs on lease.The flour mill inaugurated was the first of its kind owned by a Manipuri and was inaugurated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.Govindas further asserted that the state will have the 2nd largest for Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC) of India. The centre will be set up very soon as the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has approved. The largest FFDC is located at UP.
