Flood-induced power outages hit several Imphal localities

Amid the continuing flood crisis in Manipur, several areas in and around Imphal are facing power outages as a precautionary measure. According to a press note issued by A. Priyobarta Singh, Manager of TCSD-VII, Wangkhei under the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), electricity supply from the 11KV Wangkhei-I, Thambalkhong, and Wangkhei-II feeders has been temporarily suspended.
The decision was taken due to waterlogging in parts of Porompat crossing, Porompat Ayangpalli, Thambalkhong, Seram Leirak, Andro Parking, and Keithel Ashangbi. These areas have been severely affected by rising floodwaters, posing risks to electrical infrastructure and public safety.
MSPDCL has assured that the situation is being closely monitored and power supply will be restored as soon as conditions are deemed safe. The department also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and appealed to the public for patience and cooperation during this challenging period.
