Five days’ economic blockade of JAC against Kadangban incident begins

The five days’ economic blockade imposed by the Joint Action Committee against the killing of Khupneilal Neihsiel and Robert Hesei Kipgen along the two National Highways of the state has begun today.

The economic blockade, which is imposed after the failure of the state government to set up a magisterial inquiry within 15 days, largely affected movement of vehicles carrying various commodities on the National Highways. As many as 30 goods laden trucks heading towards Imphal from Dimapur  have been stranded at Kangpokpi.

It may be mentioned that earlier too the JAC had withdrawn their agitations after the representatives of JAC talked with the state Government. During the talk the JAC urged the government to set up the magisterial inquiry about the incident within 15 days.
