A fashion event on “Replica of the Phanek used in olden days by the Kings’ Queens and Durbar Members”, entitled ‘Tabunungee Phijol’ ramped at Library and Information Centre Kakching’s Auditorium yesterday evening.
Speaking to Imphal Times, producer and designer of the event, Y. Lanchenba said the show was organized as part of his course of research (1) Replica of the Phanek used in olden days by the Kings’ Queens and Durbar Members, (2) on the seven clan Yek-Salai of meeteis’ which were dressed during those times and (3) on seven different phases of bride’s dress since those time till today.
In the fashion event organized by Yengkhoiba Group of Guiders, Kakching, Manipuri film actress Leishangthem Tonthoi walked on the ramp as Showstopper.
