Except for the 4 NPF MLAs, no members officially tender resignation

I was misquoted by a news agency – Thangso Baite

The game plan for spreading rumours of some MLAs including the chairman of the Hill Area Committee and a senior cabinet minister remain as mystery as none of the MLAs, or the Chairman or the senior cabinet minister had officially tender resignation to the concern authority, be it either to the speaker or to any of the concern officers of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
When enquired about the much talk rumours and the resignation letter posted through social media, an official of the Manipur Legislative Assembly said that if a post at social media site can be considered as official or not. Further the official who did not want to disclose his identity said that after the rumours about their resignation had spread like wild fire, the Chairman of the Hill Area Committee Dr. Chaltonlien Amo attended his office on September 15 and September 16, which mean that he still serves as the chairman of the HAC. On the other hand an Imphal based Manipur daily had also earlier reported that the Senior Cabinet Minister had also attended any crucial cabinet meeting.
Meanwhile, media reports which said that Thangso Baite had opined formation of two union territories by bifurcating the state of Manipur has been strongly refuted by the MP himself. Soon after his arrival at Imphal yesterday, the outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency MLA had clarified that he was misquoted by the reporter who filed the story.
He further added that the reporter did asked him about bifurcating the state if the present crisis is to find a solution, but Thangso Baite said that he cannot give any comment regarding the matter. He said he has been always associating to the cause for protecting the integrity of the state and there is no question of him giving such statement.
Hours before the MP clarified over the matter Convenor of the JCILPS Kh Ratan had urged the MP to clarify over the matter.
