Eimi Times ex-editor tenders apology

Dear Babina Diagnostics,

I am writing this letter to apologize for slandering you on Imphal Times on 27th April, 2017, and also on social network Facebook.
I had no right to say that your esteemed office could be so careless. The claim was unjustified and unsubstantiated.
I understand that this qualifies as defamation of character. I hope that you can understand that not only did I not have all the information but that I was extremely angry about my ailing sister in the capital for her cancer treatment and therefore not thinking clearly. I simply got caught up in the moment and I deeply regret it.
I hope that you can find a way to forgive me for my momentary lapse in judgment. I promise to intimate with your esteemed office in future in order to make it clear that my comments were unwarranted and untrue.

Sincerely,
David Letgoulien Gangte,
Editor, Eimi Times.

Dear David, It would be prudent to think judiciously before blaming another party on a social platform. It would also be helpful if we did a proper research on the topic before taking a head on collision. This would prevent maligning someone or worse showing oneself in a bad light. The editors of all press and media should also develop a habit of news verification before putting up on their sites or printing them on their papers. One should have the dignity of his office and the integrity of the his organization to vouch upon the veracity of their news and its source. Otherwise it would bring about a trust deficit in his organization. Attacking soft targets like Doctors has been in vogue in Manipur in the recent past, mainly for monetary benefits. Such practices are often found to be without merit. However, in a SOCIETY like MANIPUR which is fueled by emotions rather than rational thinking, these false Propaganda only continue to create further hatred towards the doctor community. Instead of correcting the waning doctor - patient relationship your unwarranted opinion prejudiced by your labile mental status is doing more harm within the doctor fraternity and also between the doctors and their patients. Babina Diagnostics had been benevolent enough to have notified you about their intentions. Had they been some cranky emotionally labile people they would directly sued you and the publishing paper directly with charges of defamation and compensation there in involved. Please think judiciously for the good of all before you embark on similar attacks.
