Imphal, April 1:

The month of April begins today and this is the month that the government Primary and Upper Primary schools as well as those students studying from Class I to VII at secondary and higher secondary schools have been notified to conduct the term examination by the Education department of the Government of Manipur. But what is shocking is that many of the students at government schools have not been provided all books for all subjects under the Samagra Shiksha, by the government concerned authority.
For a government upper primary school, in Imphal west district this reporter visited to enquire about the matter and found that the students from Class I to VII are not getting books on Social Science. Except for the class VII student to students from Class I to VIII have not gotten their Samanya Hindi Pustika subject. Students of Class I to V are attending school without Manipuri Nongin, English Supply. For Class I, II, III, VI, and VIII, students are attending school Science /EVS books. And for class III they attend school with just 2 subjects Manipuri and English.
The condition of the government school seems to be improving in no way with the concerned government department failing to make available books required by the students that were supposed to be provided in time.
