Lok Sabha MP Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam inaugurated the newly constructed Common Workshed at the Ideal Girl’s College Akaampat Relief Camp, built under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) 2025–26.
The workshed is designed to serve as a shared workspace for the relief camp residents, enabling them to engage in livelihood and income-generating activities. The initiative aims to foster self-reliance among displaced families while restoring their dignity and economic independence.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Bimol highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for displaced communities to regain financial stability and contribute productively to society. The facility is expected to support various skill-based activities, empowering the inmates and improving their overall well-being.
The project underscores the role of targeted development initiatives in addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by displaced families and enhancing their capacity for sustainable livelihoods.
