For the upcoming Khongjom Day Observation, a social service was conducted today at Khongjom War Memorial Complex atop Khebaching, Thoubal, areas around Khongjom River and the surrounding areas around the complex.
The social service was organised by District Administration Thoubal and staffs of various departments of SP Thoubal; SDO Thoubal; EE (PWD); EE (WR); EE(PHED); AE (MI); Forest department; Thoubal and Wangjing Lamding Municipal Council; Thoubal Fire service and Staffs of DC office Thoubal took part wholeheartedly.
It may be mentioned that the Khongjom Day Observation was restricted due to COVID-19 Pandemic for the last two years. This year the District Administration is expecting large number of public attendance. The Khongjom Day Observation is observed every year on April 23rd to honour the gallant Manipuri warriors including Major Paona Brajabashi who paid supreme sacrifice in the battle of Khongjom during the 1891 Anglo-Manipuri war.
