Imphal, June 1:
A release by the DIPR, Government of Manipur said that a total of 17606.46 quintal of rice has been distributed to the beneficiaries of both AAY and PHH for the Assembly Constituencies of Thangmeiband, Uripok, Keishamthong, Yaiskul, Singjamei, Mayang Imphal, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Langthabal and Lamshang in Imphal West district for the month of May.
It added that a total of 204.01 quintal of Dal was also lifted for Imphal West district while 403.03 quintal of Dal has been distributed in Uripok, Singjamei, Keishamthong and Lamshang Assembly constituencies yesterday.
As for rice under NFSA, 2390 quintal of rice has been lifted for Andro Assembly Constituency in Imphal East district yesterday. For Khundrakpam, Thongju, Khurai, and Lamlai assembly constituencies lifting of rice for the month of June has been reported complete.
All the PDS items are being distributed by the State Government to ensure that none suffer on account of non-availability of foodgrains on the backdrop of the outbreak of COVID-19 and the ongoing lockdown in the State.
