Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, inaugurated the new Hospital Kitchen adjacent to the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department today in the presence of Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital.
Addressing the gathering, Director Sunil Kumar Sharma emphasized that the newly inaugurated hospital kitchen is poised to offer pristine and cost-free dietary services to patients. The dedicated dieticians will tailor meals based on the specific medical conditions and requirements of individual patients. He also highlighted upcoming projects in the pipeline, including the inauguration of the New Main Outpatient Department (OPD) Building, Staff Quarters Type III & IV, Nursing Hostels, and Gents Hostels within the next 2 to 3 months.
Despite the prevailing challenges in the state, Sunil Kumar Sharma reassured that construction works are progressing seamlessly. The completion of the New Main OPD Building takes precedence, as it will result in significant upgrades and expansions of facilities. Moreover, the Director emphasized the urgency of transitioning from the old OPD building, which has served for more than 50 years, to the New Hospital Block.
In a forward-looking move, a proposal for the construction of the New Hospital Block at the Old OPD building area is slated to be submitted to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Heads of Departments, faculty members, the Principal of the Dental College, nursing officials, and staff from RIMS, Imphal. This marks a momentous step forward in the continuous enhancement of medical infrastructure and services at RIMS.
