Dental College RIMS organized Oral Health Awareness & Screening Camp

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in collaboration with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal conducted a “Oral Health Awareness and Screening camp” on 20th November 2022, as part of National Pedodontist Day celebration 2022 at Blessings Academy, Yaesom village in Kamjong district. Dr. Bhoomika, Assistant Prof, Dr, Sharda and Dr. Gargi, tutor in Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry welcomed the gathering and briefed about the activities to the children. The programme was coordinated and guided by Dr. Nandita Kshetrimayum, Associate Professor, Department of Public Health dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal.
A total of one hundred and forty three children and elders were screened for oral health conditions by the faculty and students. And they also gave referrals for further treatment and follow-up. Oral health awareness talk was given and toothbrush, tooth paste, mouthwash, medicines, IEC materials and toys were distributed.
The effort of staff and students from Dental College, RIMS in organizing this camp was appreciated by the staff of the school.
