CSC operators file suit regarding non payment of salary

Highly disappointed at the non-payment of salaries for 22 months, at least 43 computer operators engaged under Common Service Centres (CSC) have filed a petition with the Manipur High Court.
Following hearing of  the petition, Court has issued notice to four respondents including Chief Secretary, Manipur, Principal Secretary (IT), Government of Manipur, Manipur Information Technology Society led by its secretary and Delhi based Zoom Developers Private Limited demanding reply regarding the matter.
The 43 aggrieved CSC operators were engaged as Computer operators by the Government from October 2011 to  August 2013 with no monthly salary despite the said CSC operators are entitled to Rs 5,500 per month as per appointment letter. The Computer operators have not received salary for 22 months till date.
Highly aggrieved at non-payment of salary, the 43 CSC Computer operators, being the petitioners, filed a petition to Manipur against  Chief Secretary, Manipur, Principal Secretary (IT), Government of Manipur, Manipur Information Technology Society led by its secretary and Delhi based Zoom Developers Private Limited demanding reply regarding the matter.  After hearing the petition,  Court assumed non payment of salary as exploitation of labour issued notice to the respondents on December 19.
It may be mentioned that Common Service Centers (CSC) were set up in block levels as part of the initiative of e-Governance plan. These centres are supposed to provide the rural populace IT facilities, basic Computer knowledge and other e-Governance services.
