Court frees Sharmila; acquitted all charges

Imphal, Oct 5: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today freed Irom Sharmila by acquitting all charges leveled against her today.
Irom Chanu Sharmila, who had underwent a fast unto death protest for over 15 years demanding repealed of draconian act AFSPA stopped the fast protest on August 9 this year and declared to go for election to fight against AFSPA. She was charged under section 309 of the Indian Penal Code and was detained and force feed in custody.
As per the court verdict Irom Sharmila was found not guilty of the charge to attempt to suicide under section 309 of the IPC. Now Irom Sharmila can go for election.
Recently Sharmila had  meet Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and took his advised for fighting election.
