Central Multi-Disciplinary expert team deployed to Manipur for Covid-19

As a follow up of meeting of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence at New Delhi, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Disaster Manage Cell), Government of India has deputed a multi-disciplinary Central Team to aid State Health Department in management of Covid-19 in the State comprising of the following senior doctors:
Dr. L. Ashananda, Sr. Regional Director, RoHFW, Manipur; Dr. Rameshwar, Deputy Director, NCDC; Dr. Smita Singhal, Consultant Microbiologist and Nodal Officer for Manipur.
The team will specifically look at areas of (i) Testing, including genomic sequencing for SARS-CoV-2 variants, (ii) Contact tracing, including surveillance, containment operations, (iii) COVID Appropriate Behaviors, (iv) Availability of hospital beds, sufficient logistics including ambulances and hospital wise case fatality analysis and (v) COVID-19 vaccination progress. Further, the experts team will assess, suggest remedial actions, and report every evening at 7 PM on the public health activities being undertaken to coronacontrolroom@gmail.com besides submitting the same to State Government.
