Imphal, Aug. 05:

The All Manipur Students’ Union(AMSU) has urged the center to immediately intervene the Assam Mioram border dispute. The students’ body also urged the center to take up necessary arrangement for lifting of the economic blockade against Mizoram.
A statement of the AMSU said that the present development arises due to lack of government policy to solve border issues in the north eastern state.
“The boundary issue can be resolved only through talk, not by force”, the AMSU said.
It added that all essential items including medicine and Covid aids are stranded in Assam as people still blocked all route to Mizoram.
“They even threatened Tripura for helping Mizoram. Such an act is inhuman and this type of incident will bring chaos between the two states”, the statement said.
The AMSU urged the union government to take necessary steps to call upon the organisation of both the states to solve the border issue and to lift the economic blockade which was imposed against Mizoram.
The Union also appealed to all the people living in the boundary area to stay calm and not to destroy peace and harmony in the north eastern state.
AMSU expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the border issue. Such an incident would not happen in the future also.
