Central Forces block farmers from carrying out agricultural activities

Farmers attempting to carry out agricultural activities at Thinungei High Canal in Bishnupur district were reportedly stopped by central security forces on Thursday.
The farmers, who have been in talks with authorities since March regarding permissions for farming, expressed deep frustration over the prolonged delay and lack of response from the concerned officials.
With the cultivation season approaching, the farmers decided to move ahead with their agricultural work despite the absence of formal clearance. However, they were met with resistance from the security personnel, who cited the lack of official approval as the reason for halting their activities.
The affected farmers pointed out that residents of nearby Kom village are currently engaged in farming without any such hindrance.
