CAU, Tura organize Mental Health workshop

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the College of Community Science, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Tura, Meghalaya, organized a one-day training program titled “One Life One Team—Building a Supportive Work Environment”, in observance of World Mental Health Day 2024. The programme aimed to promote a positive and supportive work environment for the college staff.
The training session was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean of the College, who emphasized the critical role of institutions in fostering mental health and eradicating stigma in the workplace. Dr. Vastrad highlighted the importance of mental health awareness in ensuring the holistic growth of both employees and the institution.
The program was facilitated by Mahesh Masal, a Human Mindset Coach and the Founder Director of CONNECT and VISTAR ZINDAGI, an online university. Masal emphasized the importance of being loving, approachable, and available to both family members and colleagues, fostering a culture of connection. He stressed the freedom of choice, decision-making, and the importance of self-respect in every action.
The event brought together staff members ranging from Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) to Professors, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to inclusive and holistic well-being. Stress management exercises and activities aimed at reconnecting participants with their inner child were also part of the enriching experience.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Narmada Hidangmayum, Assistant Professor, Human Development and Family Studies.
