Shanta Singh Nahakpam has filed a complaint against one Ginza Vualong of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) for spreading false propaganda to escalate the ongoing conflict in the state.
Shanta, an entrepreneur, also an office bearer of the ERDO, which had been dedicated for the transportation of essential commodities in the state by Railway, said that the ITLF had published a press statement claiming the Indian railway to have carried arms and ammunition in the state. The first goods train reached Manipur on July 27 at Khongsang in Noney district.
“Section 406 (criminal breach of trust, Cognizable and non-bailable), 415 (cheating), 419 (cheating by personation cognizable and bailable), 420 (cheating and dishonesty inducing delivery of property), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, non-cognizable and bailable) 505(statements conducing to public mischief, non-cognizable and bailable) 506 (criminal intimidation) or any other sections of Indian penal code 1860..has been filed against the so-called Ginza Vualzong for the press release dated 28/07/2023 file number ITLF-PR-2023-38 which was made available in their Facebook, twitter, and website. And there is also a defamation suit to be filed against the so call person for defaming the efforts taken up by a group of traders during this time of crisis”, Shanta Singh told media persons at Manipur Press Club today.
