Imphal, July 13: Unknown persons placed a hand grenade at the residence of Dr. Laishram Deben, Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) at Kakwa Ashem Leikai under Singjamei police station. The hand grenade was found by family members at around 6 am today morning.
A team of police bomb disposal squad retrieved the hand grenade at around 6.30 am.
So far no group has called responsibility.
This is the second tie that unknown persons placed hand grenade at the residence of JNIMS director. Earlier too, on January 4 this year, unknown person placed a live lethod shell at his residence. Later, armed group Maoist Communist Party had claimed responsibility to the placing of the lethod shell saying it as a warning.
