Blood donation drive held in Toubul to mark World Red Cross Day 2025

As part of the month-long observance of World Red Cross Day 2025, a blood donation and awareness programme was held at Toubul Mamang Leikai Community Hall, Phura Makhong, in memory of Laitonjam Bankimchandra of Toubul, Late Thoudam Kesho, Elangbam Rajen, and Pebam Samarendra.
The event was jointly organized by Green Brigade Foundation Manipur, Life Savers Manipur, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Bishnupur District Branch, Department of Transfusion Medicine RIMS, NHM Manipur, Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS), and Toubul Gram Panchayat.
Key dignitaries who took part in the awareness segment of the programme included Nachou Zilla Parishad Member Laishram Menjor, Chairperson of Toubul Gram Panchayat Thokchom Ningthemani, Chairman of IRCS Bishnupur District Branch Dr. Wahengbam Gulapi, Senior Resident of RIMS Blood Bank Dr. Ranjana, and Founder of Green Brigade Foundation Manipur Elangbam Premjit. They addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation and community awareness.
According to IRCS Bishnupur District Branch Joint Secretary Huidrom Shyamchand, a total of 56 units of blood were collected during the drive, including contributions from 48 male and 7 female voluntary donors.
All participating donors were presented with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their selfless act of saving lives through blood donation.
