BJP’s popularity reaches out to Chingai, 16 Congress members quit and join BJP

In yet another political drama, ahead of the 12 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, 16 more key members of the Indian National Congress from Chingai Assembly constituency today joined the BJP. Earlier, state BJP leaderships had announced that BJP will allow of entry of any individual belonging to any political till the end of November. This perhaps is an indication about some more members including key post holders of other political parties particularly the Congress party entering the BJP.
Those joined today to the BJP from Chingai Assembly constituency included 14 executive members of the BCC (INC) Chingai along with the President of AYC and Vice president of Mahila Congress. All the 16 Congress members had tendered resignation from the active and primary membership of the Indian National Congress on September 9, 2021 to support Ningam Chamroy (IAS Retd.), who is the intending candidate of BJP from 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency in the 2022 State Assembly Election.
The 16 INC members who had resigned from their party and joined BJP Manipur were accorded a warm welcome at a function held at “Thambal Shanglen”, the State BJP Office at Nityaipat Chuthek Imphal by BJP Manipur state president A Sharda Devi. Ch. Chidananda, State BJP Vice President and Urkhul district in Charge of the BJP also present while welcoming the new members.
BJP President A Sharda said that people’s trust in the party has increased day after another as the works and programme of the BJP is satisfactory by all. She assured a landslide victory in the coming State Assembly election. She further stated that one of the BJP’s objectives is to attain a “Congress-Mukt Bharat” and thus a “Congress-Mukt Manipur”.
The members included Israel Zimik former president BCC 45 Chingai , PS Lighter former General Secretary BCC, L Wormi Raising, Hanringpam Horam former youth president BCC and other 16 executive members. The mass resignation from the congress is to Support the BJP intending Candidate Ningam Shamroy (IAS Retd.) in the upcoming general election 2022.
