BJP Manipur Pradesh denies closure of state office amid ongoing crisis

IT News
Imphal, Sept 13:

BJP Manipur Pradesh clarified today that there has been no directive from central leaders to close the Thambal Sanglen, the party’s state office located at Nityapat Chuthek. General Secretary K. Saratkumar, speaking to the media at the office, refuted claims that central BJP leadership had instructed the closure of the state office in Imphal. These remarks came in response to recent reports in local newspapers suggesting that BJP central leaders had ordered the office to be locked due to potential threats arising from the ongoing crisis in Manipur. He further said that due to the ongoing curfew the office sees only few presence of karyakatas.
Saratkumar dismissed the reports, which had sparked speculation about the possible suspension of the Manipur government. When pressed for comments on this matter, the BJP state general secretary declined to offer further insight, stating that he was not in a position to speak on such issues.
Saratkumar’s statement also followed circulating discussions regarding the suspension of operations in the state, given the government’s failure to resolve the crisis even after more than 16 months.
In response to a separate query regarding the Prime Minister’s 100-day programme—where resolving the Manipur crisis had reportedly been a priority—Saratkumar mentioned that the government has begun the removal of Assam Rifles from certain areas. He emphasized that this move was part of the central government’s efforts to address the situation in the state.
