BJP Manipur expresses grief over Air India Flight AI171 tragedy

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manipur Pradesh, has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171, which occurred on June 12, 2025. The ill-fated flight, which departed from Ahmedabad en route to London Gatwick, claimed the lives of 241 passengers and crew members.
In an official condolence message, BJP Manipur stated that the tragedy had caused immense loss to families across the country, and mentioned with deep sadness that two young cabin crew members from Manipur — Miss Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam and Miss Lamnunthhem Singson — were among the deceased. Their deaths, the party noted, represented a tremendous loss not only to their immediate families and communities but to the entire state of Manipur.
The party also mourned the demise of former Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP In-charge of Punjab, Vijay Rupani, who was among those who perished in the crash. BJP Manipur described the incident as an irreparable loss to Gujarat and the nation as a whole.
Extending its heartfelt condolences, the party stated that it shared in the grief and shock experienced by the bereaved families. It also offered prayers for the departed souls, wishing them eternal peace in the Heavenly Abode.
