Bandh against killing of Korounganba continue to cripple Imphal-Ukhrul road; JAC submits memorandum to CM

Indefinite bandh against the killing of Kourounganba by Manipur Police Commando continue to cripple life along Imphal Ukhrul road for the second day as government failed to fulfill the demands of the JAC formed against the killing of Kourounganba.
Since early morning today, hundreds of youths came out to the Imphal-Ukhrul road in between Khurai Lamlong to Heikrumakhong and block the road stretch by burning tyres and woods in the middle of the road. Almost all shops and business establishment, schools and colleges remained closed. 
On the other hand, hundreds of people of Khurai Tharoijam Leikai staged sit in protest at Khurai Tharoijam Leikai as a part of the agitation against inhuman act of Manipur commando at around 10 am.
All Manipur Student Union (AMSU) also organized a mass sit-in-protest at various schools and colleges including Ananda Higher Secondary school,  CC higher secondary school etc.  Placards which writes “stop extra judicial killing”, “terminated the police commandos involve in the accident” etc. were displayed during the protest.
At around 2 pm a protest rally as staged at Khurai Lamlong area.The rally began from the Khurai Konsam Leikai participated by over five hundred people. A team of Imphal East police prevented the rally from crossing beyond Khurai Lai Khulembi. The protestors had heated argument with the police team and later defy the police intervention. The rally was then proceeded by blocked by another team of police at Lamlong bazaar after understanding between police and seven member were select to summit the memorandum to CM.
The memorandum demanded unconditional released of the three youths namely Konthoujam Vivek, Chandam Premananda and Chabungbam Manoj Singh who were arrested in the incident in connection witha the false and fabricated criminal case registered against them
It urged for a reasonable and a suitable government jobs to a member of his family member of the deceased Korounganba.
And also urged for termination of the Police commando involved in the incident be and a case be initiated for murdering an innocent civilian and injuring another in a very unjustified manner.
The deceased Konsam Korounganba along with three friends were returning from Chingnungkhong in a Chevrolet car and were stopped by the police risking at Lamlai at around 6.am on May 17. Since they were having some liquor in the car they did not stop out of fear. The police chased them to Saombung, Sagolmang, Pangei, aiton, Tejpu and Sijiwa Jail. Thereafter they were intercepted by another commando team while they were slowing down for turning at a road construction at Kangla Sangom,sang area near Sajia Jail. All of a sudden the commando team shot at them hitting Kourounganba on his hips and Vivek as hit on his neck . The two were rushed to JNIMS and later at Shija hospital. Korounganba succumbed to his injury at around 11 pm of the same day.
