BAC meeting held; Govt. to introduce 3 Bill on the first sitting

Sitting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) held today has listed the tentative schedule of the emergency sitting of the eleven sessions (part III) of the Tenth Manipur Legislative Assembly. The emergency sitting will be held for two days, that is on August 28 and August 31. On the first sitting, three government Bills – The Protection of Manipur Peoples’ Bill, 2015 (Bill No. 16 of 2015) ,the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reformed (Seventh amendment) Bill, 2015 (Bill No. 17 of 2015) and the Manipur Shops and Establishments (Second amendment) Bill, 2015 (Bill No. 18 of 2015).
There will be no sitting on Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. The last and second sitting will be held on Aug. 31, on the day the 3 Bill, introduced on the first day will be considered and passed by the house.
It may be mentioned that the State Government is compelled to call the second emergency sitting for passing of the 3 Bill after undue pressure from the people of the State. Mention may also be may that the dead body of Sapam Robinhood who was killed in police firing during the mass agitation for introduction of ILPS on July 8 still remain at JNIMS morgue as the family and JAC refuse to accept the body until ILPS is implemented in the State. The JAC however had earlier stetted they accept the dead body after the passing of the bill.
