Arms smugglers apprehended in Churachandpur

In a successful operation, troops of 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division apprehended four Arms Smugglers from Torbung, Churachandpur. Based on a specific input regarding the movement of a suspected person from Moirang to Churachandpur with weapon, the troops of 7 Assam Rifles immediately launched a operation on 28 Feb 2016 at around 2015Hr to carry out a thorough search of vehicles coming from Moirang to Churachandpur and apprehended four Arms Smugglers along with weapon. The apprehended individuals are identified as Thamilan Haokip @ Laxman, aged 35 yrs, son of Manouilien, resident of D Phailein, Post office/ Police Station/ District- Churachandpur, Nomingthan, aged 23 yrs, son of Pauolin, resident of Sungotojang, Post office/ Police Station/ District- Churachandpur, Thanglan Gangte, aged 28 yrs, son of Lhungkhothang, resident of Tuilumjang, Post office/ Police Station/ District- Churachandpur and Jangngam Haokip, aged 38 yrs, son of Lunlan, resident of Kthenjang, Post office/ Police Station/ District- Churachandpur. The individuals were apprehended along with one 9 mm Pistol (Country made) along with magazine, two live rounds of 9 mm, one fired case, one Honda Activa (Registered No MN-02 B 2409), one purse and cash Rs 1660/- at 2030Hr on 28 Feb 16. The apprehendees along with the recovered items have been handed over to Police Station Churachandpur.
