LAMKA,Sept.19: Agitations demanding withdrawal of the  three Bills passed by Manipur Legislative Assembly special season on August 31,2015, and punishment of the police personnel involved in the killing of 9 agitators continued in Churachandpur  district today.
As part of the movement, JAC women wing of  Churachandpur  today staged a sit in protest and later formed a human chain from Kangvai to Churachandpur district hospital.
The agitators also observed a one-minute silence in memory of the nine tribal who were killed by the state forces.
The agitation was jointly organised by the Joint Action Committee, Churachandpur, JAC Women wing, and Joint Philanthropic Organisation, Churachandpur.
The Chief Convenor H Mangchinkhup of the JAC said the people fully opposed the three Bills.
“Now that when we buried our nine tribal martyrs , we will come out with full opposition to the anti-tribal bills”, Mangchinkhup said.
Taking a week’s time just for the formation of a Drafting Committee is akin to showing disrespect to the public movement, he added.
Several local leaders also spoke on the anti-tribal Bills during the protest.
