Imphal, Nov 20: BJP Thoubal Mandal has refuted allegations of asking bribe to one BJP intending candidate identified as Kangabam Jadu from Charangpat in Thoubal district terming it as a cooked up story to defame the Secretary, Thoubal District Yuva Morcha.
Oinam Arpan, the Secretary of Thoubal district Yuva Morcha was expelled from the BJP after he along with one person identified as Shiekh Badrudoza was alleged of negotiating payment for BJP ticket to Kangabam Jadu.
Family and the members of the Thoubal District Mandal held a meeting on Saturday evening and discussed about the charges leveled against the BJP youth leader. The meeting unanimously resolved to condemn the defaming of the BJP youth leader and said that the BJP Thoubal District Mandal will urge the state leadership to find out the truth and to punish those involved in the defaming of the BJP.
As according to the wife of Oinam Arpan, on the evening of Nov. 17, President of the BJP Thoubal District Mandal L Deven and Secretary Rajen called on her husband Oinam Arpan to come for dinner at the residence of K Jadumani regarding to allocation of party ticket.
She said it was the President and Secretary of the BJP Thoubal District and occurrence of such incident was unfortunate.
She charge the President and the secretary to be the men behind such offering of bribe and said that both had lunch together at the residence of Jadumani many a times.
Oinam Arpan’s wife also stated that Jadumani had many times called on to her husband and the recent incident seems to be a conspiracy to assassinate the career of her husband. She demanded thorough investigation into the husband and urged authority to punish those involved in the incident.
Former Secretary of BJP Thoubal District, Dannis Ahamad from Lilong Assembly constituency said that the present president of Thoubal BJP Mandal Deven had told hm to find out aspirant candidate who wanted to get BJP ticket. He question whether the district president can provide ticket or the state president can provide tick or is it the BJP Central authority that will decide on whom to provide ticket. Deven directives to find candidates who want BJP ticket need to be inquired, he added.
Former President of BJP Thoubal district Yuva Morcha P. Bikramjit also alleged present president of BJP Thoubal Mandal Deven as highly corrupted person. He also question on why the corrupted person has been appointed the President by skipping so many dedicated BJP workers from the district.
