Agreement to open a Chinese Language learning centre at Manipur University signed

A frame work agreement to open a Chinese Language learning centre at Manipur University was signed between the Foreign Language Development, Manipur University and Yumnam Academy of Social Sciences on the first day of the 6th China-South and Southeast Asia Think Tank Forum Conference which began today at Kunming, Yunnan Province of China.

The agreement signed between the representatives of Foreign Language Department, Manipur University and Professor Chen Lijun, Vice President, Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences and Chinese Academy (Kunming) for South Asia and Southeast Asia Tudies for mutual cooperation and to come at an MoU through the level of Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University to bring forward the development in studies of Chinese Language.

The agreement also includes the Chinese University to assist and support in learning Chinese Language.

Altogether 10 delegates representing India including three from Manipur are participating the conference.

During the conference, it was commonly agreed that cooperation among think tanks based on extensive communication and exchange is essential for further deepening cooperation, promoting mutual benefit and mutual development as they are facing with new opportunities in China’s cooperation with South and Southeast Asia and think tank can play important role of it.

A draft having eight points to initiate on establishing the China-South and Southeast Asia Think Tank Network was discussed and agreed to put into effect by signing an MoU with the representatives after the end of the conference was also put up during the conference.

The conference which is four day long will conclude after signing MoU of the agreement on 16th of this month which is to implemented.
