76th Republic Day of India celebrated at all district head quarters of Manipur

Manipur on January 26, 2025. Each district hosted unique events that reflected national pride and a commitment to unity.
Kakching District: The celebrations took place at the District Sports Association (DSA) Ground, Kakching Turel Wangma. Rohit Anand, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, served as the Chief Guest and began the ceremony by unfurling the tricolor flag, followed by the National Anthem. He took the salute from march past contingents led by Parade Commander Ng Suresh Anthony, MPS, SDPO Sugnoo. The contingents included the Manipur Rifles, Indian Reserve Battalion, Kakching Police, VDF, ICDS Project, and various local organizations like Kha Football Academy, NN Mangang Wushu Academy, and Southern Manipur Band Party Academy. In his speech, Rohit Anand highlighted the district’s developmental progress, rehabilitation efforts for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and the importance of democracy and constitutional principles. He noted that over 200 families had returned to their homes, with 26 relief camps still operational, housing over 5,000 people. He urged more families to return home, emphasizing the support available for them.
Thoubal District: The Republic Day was celebrated at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School Ground. A. Subhash Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from contingents led by Parade Commander Tayenjam Clinton Singh, MPS. The parade featured seven contingents from the Home Department, one band party from Thoubal Police, VDF personnel, eleven school contingents, and eight cultural troupes. Various schools and organizations participated, showcasing the district’s cultural diversity.
Bishnupur District: The celebration at DSA Ground, Bishnupur, organized by the District Administration, was marked by a vibrant display of patriotism. Deputy Commissioner Lourembam Bikram inspected the Guard of Honour and took the salute of 27 march past contingents, including cultural troupes from NYK Bishnupur. The parade was led by Md. Riyajuddin Shah, MPS, Dy.SP (LPF), Bishnupur.
Chandel District: District Administration Chandel organised 76th Republic Day at the playground of Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School, Japhou.
DC Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar attended the celebration as Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag. The Chief Guest took salute from march past contingents led by Parade Commander, Ng Parshung Moyon, MPS, Assistant Commandant of 8th Manipur Rifles. A total of 18 contingents including the Manipur Police, Manipur Rifles, IRB, VDF, students from different schools of the district, NCC, 21st Assam Rifles Band Party attended the march past parade.
Senapati District: The event was held at Sanyi Dahrii Sports Complex, Khabung Karong. Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley, IAS, served as the Chief Guest, inspecting the Guard of Honour and unfurling the National Flag. The parade featured 20 contingents, including security personnel, NCC, NSS, and college students, led by Parade Commander M. James Thangal, MPS, SDPO Mao.
Jiribam District: Celebrations took place at Jiribam Higher Secondary School Playground. Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, unfurled the tricolor and took the salute from ten march past contingents led by Parade Commander Yumnam Joyraj Singh, MPS. Despite recent challenges in the district, a large crowd attended the event, which included contingents from CRPF, 7th IRB, Civil Police, and educational institutions.
Churachandpur District: The event at Public Ground, Hiangtam Lamka, featured Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S as the Chief Guest. He unfurled the National Flag and received the Rashtriya Salute from 23 march past contingents, including BSF, civil police, NCC cadets, and school students.
Tengnoupal District: The celebrations were held at the district headquarters, with Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony included the unfurling of the National Flag and the Rashtriya Salute.
Noney District: At Longmai III Public Ground, Deputy Commissioner Sharath Chandra Arroju unfurled the tricolor and inspected the march past contingents.
Kangpokpi District: The Republic Day was celebrated at Brigadier M. Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi, with local officials leading the ceremony.
Pherzawl District: Celebrations at the DC Office complex were led by Deputy Commissioner Asish Das, who unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from parade contingents commanded by SDPO Thanlon Golamthang Hatzaw.
Ukhrul District: The event was held at Bakshi Ground, Ukhrul, where Deputy Commissioner Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from 34 parade contingents representing various departments and educational institutions.
Kamjong District: Celebrations at Kamjong Higher Secondary School Ground featured Deputy Commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony included the unfurling of the tricolor and participation from various district departments.
Tamenglong District: At Apollo Ground, Tamenglong headquarters, the event featured cultural performances and awards recognizing community achievements and public service. The celebrations highlighted the district’s rich cultural heritage and commitment to national values.
Across Manipur, the 76th Republic Day celebrations were marked by patriotic fervor, cultural showcases, and a reaffirmation of the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
