504 loaded trucks expected in Imphal today evening

Imphal, Nov 29: A total of 504 loaded trucks started for Imphal from Jiribam today at around 8am with CO of 6th IRB leading the escort team which also include Adl. SP, SDPO and OC of Jiribam Police traveling upto Nungba as well as personnel of Bishnupur and Imphal west CDO as part of ROP.
With the goods ferrying truck heading for Imphal under tight security force, it is likely that the problem being faced by the people of the state would be solved somehow. 
Report reaching here said that four teams of Imphal East CDO personnel were also part of the escort party. According to reports, the convoy includes 31trucks carrying FCI rice, 129 of Cement , 16 of Petrol, 27 of Diesel, 19 of LPG, 3 of ATF, 1 of SK Oil and 278 other trucks with assorted essential commodities and are expected to reach the state capital late in the evening today.
Meanwhile, UNC supporters had staged protest demonstration at Noney in Tamenglong district. The protestors staged a rally shouting slogans demanding release of the UNC President Gaidon Kamei and Publicity Secretary Sankhui Stephen Lamkang. However, protestors did not showed any hostilities towards the truckers and the security forces which were heading for Imphal even as the rally disrupted them for few minutes.
