5 PLA cadres arrested in Myanmar deported to Imphal

Five members of the armed rebel group of Manipur – the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) who were arrested by Myanmar police at Chindwin River Bridge in Monywa, Sagaing Region in northwestern Myanmar in August last year has been deported to India at an Indian Air Force flight today morning. The Indian Air Force flight landed at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at around 11.00 am.
The five members were reportedly arrested while they were on their way for medical care. Among them is a captain of the armed group identified as Devani. According to a report that appeared at Irrawady the captain Devani also known as Nora live in Saigang with a fake Myanmar citizenship ID. The news portal also reported that Nora held from Tokpaching of India’s Manipur and had moved to Myanmar and married a Burmese woman in Saigang. The couple has a daughter.
Other members arrested were Koireng, Banner, Angam and Abi, as per a source.
