The 21st Rising Day of the Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO), Southern Headquarter No.V, Hiyanglam Wabagai, was celebrated today at Ema Ayangleima Haraopung Terapishak under the theme “Universal Peace and Love”.
Dr. Elangbam Amitkumar, Proprietor of Lamyanba Enterprises, attended the event as Chief Guest. In his address, he stated that UFO functions under a unified leadership guided by discipline and dedication. He highlighted the organisation’s consistent stand on safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur, especially during critical junctures. Referring to recurring crises in the state, Dr. Amitkumar remarked that civil society organisations (CSOs) often travel to Delhi during such times, and their return is usually followed by a calming of the situation—a trend observed by the people.
He further noted that the Meitei community, since the time of their ancestors, has never bowed down to external forces. Citing the community’s rich history spanning over 2,000 years in Southeast Asia, he stressed the importance of remembering and upholding the dignity and spirit of the forefathers.
