12 hours Andro bandh begins; affect normal life

The 12 hours bandh called by the JAC formed against the brutal murder of K Ibemhal Devi of Poirou Khanjin Kaina Chingkhong in protest against the released of the 4 accused on bail has disrupted normalcy in certain part of the Assembly Constituency.
The four accused arrested in connection with the murder of the lady were released on bail bond of Rupees 50,000 each by the Imphal East Session Court yesterday. Members of the JAC and other women activist shouted slogans against the released of the 4 accused inside the court complex yesterday.
According to our Thoubal district correspondent the bandh was effective from Yairipok Bridge area to Thambalnu Market. Almost all shops and vegetable vendors were shuts while bandh supporters burnt tyres and placed planks and woods in the middle of the road to prevent any vehicular movement.
There were no report of any unwanted incident happened at the time of filing this report.
It may be mentioned that last night at around 9.30 pm the members of the JAC stormed to the Andro Police station shouting slogan against the released of the four accused. The police reportedly fire some rounds of gunshot in the air to disperse the crowd.
