In today’s selfish and materialistic society, it is so grateful in coming across what Ascension Educational Trust (AET) is actually doing. I am sure this information will be more than anything else for students who dream of becoming a doctor perhaps facing financial challenges to attain coaching classes. This organization, ‘Ascension Educational Trust’ headquartered at Khangsim village near Kakching Lamkai under Thoubal district has been providing free residential coaching for pre-medical test since the last 2 years.
So far 24 students coming from poor economic family background has given free residential pre-medical coaching classes, out of which one student from the last year’s base got MBBS and seven others in different streams like,  B.sc Agriculture, B.sc Horticulture, B.sc Nursing . While interacting with Imphal Times, Dr.Thyeinai Dawn Khaling, founder of the trust said the target beneficiary of their service are economically backward families irrespective of caste creed or religion. Any family whose yearly income is below Rs. 1 lakh and dreams to become doctor can come and take the facilities.  “It is a complete free boarding, free mess and free study material to economically backward students from far-flung villages, so that the students can pursue their dream of becoming doctors” said Dawn.
“As 67% population of India falls in economically weaker section (EWS), and in this materialistic and competitive age, more or less 67% of our youth must be experiencing some degree of depression. If 67% of youths are suffering from depression then how can a community or state or a country will develop”, stated Dawn, as the motive behind the charitable trust. Through their service he hopes that many youths who were depressed because of their financial inability to attain coaching classes will come out of depression, said Dawn confidently.
