For the first time after a year and a half, I got the opportunity to attend a function. The occasion was the Bloggers Meet and Award Ceremony organised by the Chandigarh Chapter of Bloggers Alliance, which is an association of bloggers, creators and storytellers. It’s a not for profit education society which brings the creative minds together through workshops, social media and blogs. Prof Archana R Singh of Panjab University; Ankit Mahajan aka Mathsbaba, Travel and food blogger; Divya Azad, Plus Size Model; Karina Bedi, Lifestyle Blogger; Manish Puri, YouTuber and Dr. Sonika Krishna, were given the Best Blogger Award. Many speakers shared their experiences about the future of blogging. Hardeep Chandpuri, country’s first radio broadcasting trainer, said that the future of blogging is bright and youth can earn well by making a great career in it. Devendra Jaiswal, co-founder of the organisation, said that one of the main objectives of the Bloggers Alliance was to teach the art of blogging. Dr Amit Nagpal, National President said that this is just a beginning, the blogging journey will go a long way. On this occasion, we tried to find out how the year 2022 will be in terms of blogging and what kind of trends are in store.
First of all, people do not want to see or read a post longer than 5-10 seconds. This is an era of snackable content, so how can it be converted into lunch or dinner type content, so that people can read even big posts with ease. One solution to this is that bloggers should bring to the fore untold and unheard stories, content that the traditional media never pays attention to. The human mind is deeply engrossed in stories. People remember the story, but forget the information. That is, a blogger should try to tell his point in the form of a story or by connecting it to a story. By doing this, the readers of that post or blog will automatically grow and those who like such a post on social media will be found in thousands or millions. There are 1.8 billion websites worldwide, of which over 600 million are blogs.
Content is said to be the king. Millions of people are searching for information on Google every day and blogs fulfil this hunger for information to a great extent. That is why content marketing is important. Content marketing costs 62% less than traditional marketing, while getting three times more leads. Those who wish to popularise their brand should focus on content marketing. Content should be written in such a way that people like it and it is also of their use. Videos are being liked more than written posts. The video is also watched by the less educated or those who do not know the language. More than one billion hours of videos are watched on YouTube every day. At least short video clips should be posted by every blogger. Building your personal brand is also very important. Only such people become influencers, on whom companies like to spend lakhs of rupees. Top social media influencers get the same importance as a movie star. Corporate companies spend lavishly on Influencers to improve their reputation. In return their sales increase.
