Noted art scholar and Founder of Kri Foundation Dr. Arshiya Sethi in collaborating with Kalpa says, I see a global and local valence for the Pragjyoti International Dance Festival that is celebrating its eleventh year. While there is a civic churning all around us, the very fact that we can come together, for art, is not just part of our civic duty, but testifies to the adhesive power of art. Kri Foundation, a haven in the forefront of activism through the arts, is privileged to be associated once again with Kalpa as part of the Pragjyoti International Dance Festival.

PIDF is an annual classical dance extravaganza conceptualized to exhibit the wide range of Indian Dance traditions together on one platform and to celebrate the rich heritage of Assam.

“With every passing edition, PIDF has taken up socially relevant concerns and initiatives to promote the softer power of art in celebrating diversity and confluence of minds by providing a global platform to varied art forms and its practitioners.  While we have worked towards the cultural tourism of the region, the Festival this year also focusses on the importance of arts education. The festival experience would not only give the performers a platform to share their art form but also give a wider space to interact and see the rich artistic legacy of Assam concludes Dr. Anwesa Mahanta.
