Imphal July 14,

Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a selection examination cum interview at Ukhrul for young students to join the aviation sector through Jettwings Institute.
This initiative of Assam Rifles enabled 45 candidates from Ukhrul and Kamjong district to realise their dreams. These candidates who have been selected by Jettwings, a Guwahati based institute, will undergo one year Graduate Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Cabin Crew Operations starting in the month of September 2019.  The training and placement programme is fully sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development.  Assam Rifles stepped in as a facilitator and coordinated with the institute to come over to Ukhrul for the selections. Assam Rifles also encouraged children from remote locations like Chattrik and Chassad to take the exam. 10 Sector Assam Rifles facilitated the conduct of written exam and personal interview on 25th June and yesterday at Assam Rifles post in Ukhrul.
Jettwings boasts of a 100% placement record for its previous batches. These 45 students from the hills are sure to achieve great success and emerge as role models for other youth in the area. It is pertinent to highlight that 64 youth from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts have already joined the Institute for training in the last one year.
