This is not court room where evidence is a much to prove the wrongs. A mere clarification that too, a statement which justifies the wrongs is not what is being expected from an office like MPSC. On larger context MPCS is an institution that shape the faith of the state as this is the body that recruits tomorrow’s administrators.
To be precise, an institution like MPSC should make no room for criticism, and if it happens the one looking after it should make public apology and accept moral responsibility. The expectation, the trust and the peoples’ hope for a change to the running of the MPSC after the appointment of a new chairman seems to be shattered as the first recruitment test conducted after the new chairman assumed office is no different from those of the earlier.
Imphal Times published an article on its August 27 issue under the heading ‘Back door entry at MPSC Manipur’ written by Mohd Amir. The write up points out series of error in the process of the recruitment beginning from distribution of Admit cards to conducting of the test twice on another date. The writer also question about the motive behind the inclusion of eligibility criteria to Master Degree certificate holder in Science stream when the post should be from among those specialize in mass communication and journalism.
Imphal Times have a copy of the notification issued by the MPSC on August 21, signed by the Secretary of MPSC H. Gyan Prakash.
In its clarification, the authority of the MPSC accepted its error in issuing admit cards to three candidates. The statement also stated that no candidate with Master degree (Science) or any other stream has been allowed to appear the recruitment exam conducted on August 25. This is on contrary to its notification dated August 21.
The clarification in response to the article published in Imphal Times clearly indicates that there have been some wrongs in the recruitment process this time. And blaming a third party for the error they committed cannot be an excuse. We also produce the clarification from the MPSC and left to the people on whether MPSC is on the right tract or not after the appointment of the new chairman.
